I have always been inspired by the forms present in nature, the curves, spirals, and geometry that repeat endlessly down to a microscopic level. My work is an exploration of these forms and the nature of repetition. I use found objects and repurpose them, taking steel, a hard unyielding material and make it appear light, fluid, and soft.
Anna and I have often collaborated on individual works, offered advice to each other and sometimes creative direction when frustration strikes. This is our first show together. Losing Anna's Dad helped us see the importance of each moment spent collectively, to appreciate these moments as the threads of the tapestry of our creative life together. That each moment is precious and must be lived to the full. Neil was an inspiration to anyone who met him and it was an honour to know him. This show is dedicated to him and the simple act of creativity that is every day. - Kelly-Ann Lees 2017
